What does it mean to “believe on;” or to “have faith in;” or TO LOVE… Jesus Christ?

Well… it is something like this…

Supposing your computer was full of viruses, and you brought it to me, to fix…  I cleaned it out and told you to ‘run’ this particular ‘cleaner app,’ every day, and sent you on your way and THEN gave you written instructions AND gave you my phone number and said that any time you need help (in doing so) give me a call…

You then used your computer BUT you did not listen to me and you never ran the ‘cleaner app’.  And your computer started to slow down and act up…

A friend drops by and there you are all in a fret… complaining about your computer not working right!!!

Then they say, “Take it to Richard Boyd, he’ll fix it up and tell you how to avoid the viruses!!!”

And then you say, “Oh yes, Richard Boyd, he’s wonderful. 🙂 He knows everything about computers [I don’t, though], and I ‘believe’ in and have complete ‘faith’ in him!!!”

Your friend would then reply, “Yes ya fool… so do I… and THAT’S why… I listen to him when he tells me to do this, or not to do that!!!”

And the moral of the story is…

If you BELIEVE on Jesus Christ, and have FAITH in Him, and say that you LOVE and KNOW Him… you’d be a fool (and a liar) not to listen to Him!!!

If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15, KJV)

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”  (John 14:21, KJV)

To love God means that we obey his commandments. Obeying his commandments isn’t difficult.” (1 John 5:3, GWT)

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.” (1 John 2:3, KJV)

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”  (1 John 2:4, KJV)
