Three things will last forever–faith, hope, and love–and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
No, the LORD’s delight is in those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy.
Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in You alone.
This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Saviour of all people and particularly of all believers.
1 Timothy 4:10
And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.
1 Corinthians 15:19-20
So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD!
You are my refuge and my shield; Your word is my source of hope.
I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His Word.
I am worn out waiting for Your rescue, but I have put my hope in Your Word.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
But I will keep on hoping for Your help; I will praise You more and more.
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again–my Savior and my God!
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
1 John 3:3
Remember the word unto Thy servant, upon which Thou hast caused me to hope.
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
King David said this about Him:
‘I see that the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad,
and my tongue shouts His praises!
My body rests in hope.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called–His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in You.
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory.
1 Peter 1:21
For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honour to Christ, whether I live or die.
